CourierPost supports the Great Ride for Heart14 Jan 2010 CourierPost is thrilled to announce their support for the
Great Ride for Heart. CourierPost will be helping this great cause by transporting the riders gear, food and equipment to key locations around the country during the entire journey.
The Great Ride for Heart event that takes place in the first 2 weeks of February 2010. A group of New Zealand’s top cardiologists (as well as a whole bunch of supporters) will ride the length of the country - Cape Reinga to Bluff - to raise $1M.
This money will be used to establish a research hub at the University of Auckland to conduct research into preventing premature deaths from heart disease. The total campaign aims to raise $5M to establish this chair.
Each of the core riders (riding the entire length of the country) has pledged to raise $10,000 each while the other relay riders will each endeavour to raise $1,000. All costs associated with the ride will be funded by the individual riders, in addition to the time they have put into developing the event and time they will spend on the ride.
