Becoming Forklift Legends21 Jul 2008 Forklifts are one of the most dangerous hazards we face within the Courier industry as they have the potential to cause serious injury. After looking closely at the risks posed by forklifts we decided that we needed to raise awareness of forklift safety.
As part of an effort to increase awareness around this issue, CourierPost was part of a group-wide national driving competition focusing on safety and technical skill. In July, Tame Broughton was declared the national Forklift Legend at the Express Couriers Forklift Masters National Finals. Tame is the AM Team Leader at Hamilton CourierPost.
This will be an annual competition and we expect that once word gets out next year will be bigger and better by far. Through this initiative we are hoping to lead the way in New Zealand forklift driver safety and safe behaviour around forklifts.
